about

Song is free or pay what you like ala AMANDA PLAMER. Google her Ted Talk on the art of asking.

I wrote, recorded, arranged this song in bed during a week long migraine. Well, the song idea started decades ago. But this is the 1st recording. the Moog bass was done by downloading a nice sample (see credits), which transposed in Audacity & dragging each note around while cutting them down to fit the form. The quirky drum loop is from Max Gebhardt's (Max Beat Werk) sample pack 1.

lyrics

You are the sugar
In my fuel tank
I'm the thorn
In your side
You're a restraining order
Waiting to happen
See what we have
Here is problematic
Volatile at best
Oh I know it's outta hand
And oh my comfort zone
Uh oh
It'd don't take
A degree
To understand
You and me
Are a toxic
Combination
But if ya don't stop creepin me
I'm gonna have to call the police
If I could
See you through
A rear view mirror
You might look small and
Further away than you are
Actually
You see I'm pullin up stakes
To strange claims
That crept up on me
Seemingly suddenly
So let bridges afire light the skies
Tonight
The red flags
The gut feels
No candy coating
Can conceal
The toxic
Situation
But if ya don't stop meddling
I'm gonna have to call the police
So call me a bitch (I'll wear it)
A drama queen (whatever)
As long as ya stay well away from me
Has anyone ever mention to you
Anything about boundary issues?
Gotta feelin
It may have come up a time or two

about

Liz Aday Music NSW, Australia

Dual citizen USA/AUS. I've been in solitude as an artist for years. I never stopped writing, but I did lose my voice to Vocal Cord Palsy in 2017. They said I mightn't speak again. But as we say in Australia.. Yeah-nah! My main instrument apart from my voice is guitar but I love samples, synths & looping. Heavily influenced by old timey jazz (Billie&Ella)/90s trip hop/Prince & too much to list. xox ... more
